Well, it’s been terrific to be with you again. Tell your friends. Tell your relatives. Tell your boss. And even tell your pastor if you dare!

We have a bottom line here at the RFN. The bottom line is Jesus Christ. Period. Make sure He has top spot in your life. We hear a lot about how Christians are getting a raw deal these days. We worry about abortion and teen sex. We worry about gay people and government intervention, and that girls will actually believe the stuff that feminists tell them.

We worry about rock music, tattoos, liberal education in public schools, condoms, pornography, child abuse, wife abuse, husband abuse, Earth abuse, animal abuse - the list goes on and on and on. Don’t forget that aborted babies are having a grand old time in Heaven right now. (my mom, I’m sure, is trying to run the show..making sure diapers are changed and sweaters are worn.)

Worry. Should we worry? Why do we worry? Why do even relatively squared away, born again, washed-in-the-blood Christians - worry? Because despite our best efforts at pretending we're not - we ARE still sinners.

But even though God is in control, even though He knows how this all ends, even though we’ve been saved, we still need to try to protect people from people. We need to do what’s right as best we can. We need to protect our children. We need to eliminate pornography. We need to have child pornographers shot. And electing Christian politicians may not be the best answer. Most of what we hear from the pulpits AND the pews these days is what I'd call the depressed gospel. Seems like some people don't know for sure if they're going to make it to the sweet by and by, but they sure HOPE so.

We need to change laws so they work. If someone breaks the law, they forfiet their “rights”. If someone kills somebody, and there are eyewitnesses, and there is no doubt - you nuke ‘em - right then - crazy or not. If someone commits a crime with a gun, you put them in jail forever. If a kid under 16 breaks the law, you put their parents in jail. If a politician misuses YOUR money, he’s not only in jail, but can never again be in a public position.

Let’s ban stupid lawsuits. And here’s a concept for you—let’s make people responsible for their actions! Let’s balance concern for mother Earth, for concern with the well-being of people. Let’s create an atmosphere for our kids where gangs/drugs/crime are NOT a keen idea. (Look at it this way. Right now a kid making $5.50 an hour at McDonalds sees his friends making $400 a day selling drugs. Then say we eliminate drugs. Do you really think the kid who was making $400 a day is going to go work at McDonalds for $4.50 an hour?)

Let’s keep an eye on cults. Christians are sometimes so busy keeping their collective heads buried in the sand, that the cults very cleverly sneak in and all of a sudden people think they’re a viable option. JW’s, Mormons, Scientologists, Moonies, Hari Krishna, 1st Church of Sex. Anyone can start a church. (First Rebel Flock Church doesn't sound bad - and there's that tax-free status. Hmmmm.)

Sometimes the most dangerous cults might be within mainstream Christianity. What about the name it and claim it ministries? What about Ken and John and Paul and Jan and Jimmy and on and on and on. Do you really think TBN is a good thing? There are heretical teachings on there daily, and they're fooling a lot of people. And making a lot of money. The Angel network isn't any better -

Here’s the bottom line. WAKE UP CHRISTIAN!!!! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ESPRESSO! The world is going to hell in a hand basket - and we’re letting it!

But WAIT! The idea is NOT to bomb an abortion clinic.

The idea is NOT to lay down on railroad tracks if someone doesn't live the Christian way.

The idea is NOT to reject someone if he or she doesn't see things the way you see things.

The idea is NOT to have only Christian friends.

So what is the idea? Service. Serve and serve and serve again. Without expecting thanks. Without expecting someone will notice. Without someone paying you. Without someone joining your church. Without someone all of a sudden giving up the homosexual lifestyle. Without someone realizing that life is precious. Granted, there are people who serve in the 'church'. That's great. But the majority of us should be serving/loving elsewhere. In the bars. In the pool halls. In city hall. In the parks. In the streets. In our neighborhood. In our schools.

SERVE. I’m not talking the once-a-year-parking-lot-work-day-at-your-church. I’m not talking about taking meals once a month to the shut ins. I’m not talking about bringing the Power Team to your school. (please - don't even consider it!)

Serve. Make serving the way you live. The way you see life. The way you see other people. Serve people out of their minds. But don’t get caught up in it. It has to be natural. Be secretive about it. Don’t tell anyone you’re serving. Don’t shout it from the rooftops that you are serving. Don’t make it a big deal. Just serve. “But I don’t have the gift of service”..you say. Serve anyway. Serve in the smallest way possible to start.

You don’t have to wash a hundred sandals a day. You don’t have to lead 10 people to Christ a month. You don’t have to have the entire youth group over to your house for pizza every week. You don’t have to go to Africa to experience and then eliminate poverty. Just SERVE.

Through unconditional serving comes respect. Through respect comes honor. Through honor comes Glory to God. Bingo. Bottom line.

This is not meant as a guilt trip. It’s to wake us all up to the fact that we as Christians are not serving today. We want to be served. We’re more concerned with what dress or tie we wear to church, than we are with the neighbor down the street who is having problems. Often we’re content to sit back in our easy chairs and let God do all the work. God can’t steer the car unless it’s moving.

Serve. Love. God will be honored, and you might just get a neat feeling too. A soul might be saved, someone might eat for another day, you may change someone's life by giving them self confidence,
