Once upon a time there was a group of about ten Neat Christian Couples who had a weekly Bible study set up through their Baptist church. Bible believers, Godly people, full of fun and life, and we even took turns leading the Bible Studies.

It seems that the assistant pastor in charge of these 'flocks', as they were called, wanted all the flocks in the church to study the same thing at the same time. If one group was studying John, the rest of the groups had to study John, and so on.

Well, our 'rebel' group of people thought, that's odd. What if people in different groups are going through different times in their lives, different struggles and asking different questions and needing help in forms that might differ from other groups?

So we thought, hmmmm. What if one night we could meet someone's needs by studying a passage in Peter rather than John, or take off in a whole different direction and study relationships or old testament women, or marriage, or raising kids, and so on.

Well this sort of Neat Christian Thinking didn't go over well with the assistant pastor. He was worried that if our group went ahead and did what would meet our needs best, other groups would want to study what might be meaningful to them. This naturally, could create chaos in the church! Control might be lost, men's rules would be in jeopardy of being broken

We respectfully disagreed, and continued to study the Bible and subjects that meant a great deal to us at the time, met our needs, through that we were really were able to minister to each other. It was terrific;one of the most meaningful times in my life.

The other study groups in the church complied with the pastor, but our little group of wayward sheep were branded 'a rebel flock' by the assistant pastor and others.

So, since we were going to officially be rebels, what better way to keep the faith and keep the vision by starting a little newsletter called the Rebel Flock News, taking a light hearted look at the church and those Christians who really think they ARE somebody.

The rest, as they say, is history. I hope you enjoy this web site. Be careful what you believe from a man's lips (or computer :) and thanks for reading!
